Taj Mahal welcomes you!

We did a little trip to Agra on Thursday to visit Taj Mahal and the first thing that welcomed us was a camel! :-)
Heading in towards the gate that will lead us to the Taj Mahal
Bora and I outside the gate
The first visual of the very very beautiful Taj Mahal through the gate
Finally inside and the Taj Mahal is even more beautiful in real life than any picture can show!
Everything in and around the Taj Mahal is symmetrical and everything follows the center line seen in the middle of the water going from the outer gate up to the Taj Mahal
The King that built Taj Mahal placed star shaped symbols all over.. In the floors and as seen here in the garden!
 The ultimate tourist picture! :-)
Taj Mahal reflecting in the water
Bora and I on the famous bench :-)
The guide made me pose for another picture that Bora has now named; the beach picture at Taj Mahal! :-)
 Admiring the marbel mausoleum
Part of the symmetric is seen here where the domes of the main gates both sides can be seen at once... The gate looks the exact same from both sides!
 Sunset over the Taj Mahal
 Colorful tourists :-)
The sun goes down behind the Taj Mahal
The line to get inside and see the tombs of the King that built Taj Mahal and the tomb of his wife that he built it for... Even here you can see the star shapes in the ground...
The river that runs behind the Taj Mahal and one of the watch towers
We were not the only once that came here this day... Apparently around 15 000 people come here everyday and on Saturdays and Sundays the number of visitors is around 25 000 people (according to our guide) The annual number is somewhere between 2-4 million people!
Resting on the Taj Mahal :-)

Picture taken through the wall of the Taj Mahal
When the guide tells you to stand still and look at a wall, this is what happens ;-)
Im not sure but I think they shop at the same store ;-)
More sunset pictures as the day at Taj Mahal came to an end...

You might think that a huge and very famous building is what caught their eye... But no... It me! I'm the tourist attraction :-)
The "short" line to get to Taj Mahal in the afternoon!!
Time to leave so Bora and I take a last picture with this amazingly beautiful marble mausoleum!
Well we were almost done... I nicely stopped and took some pictures with a group of Indian girls (probably the 20th time I stopped and posed with Indians this day...)
So to conclude... If you haven't been to the Taj Mahal yet in your life... It's time to go! This beautiful mausoleum is not done justice on a picture but should be seen in real life!!!
